How to Bid and Buy! Instructions on Payment and Load Out.
Sale Terms and Conditions:
We accept cash, credit cards, wire payment, and personal or company verified checks with Bank Letter of Guarantee.
– No credit card payments for purchases over $4,000.00. Name on the credit card must match the buyer’s invoice and ID. There will be a 3.5% administrative fee on all credit card purchases.
– Wire Transfer
– Personal or Business Check – if check is $5,000.00 and over and you are not an established customer, we will hold merchandise until the check clears the bank, unless custoemr has a Bank Letter of Guarantee
If you pay by a credit or debit card, a 3.5% administrative fee will apply.
All items sold must be paid for in full by the close of the auction that day or within 3 days of that auction (by the following Tuesday).
Purchases must be removed within 14 days unless other arrangements have been made with the owner. Loading will be on sale day, or Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Items left after 14 days without prior approval to extend the deadline will or can be sold at the next auction, absolute.
Shipping arrangements and cost are the BUYERS SOLE RESPONSIBILITY.
Purchases become the responsibility of and shall be and remain at the risk of the Purchaser immediately upon acceptance of his bid. It shall be the responsibility of the Purchaser to insure his purchases immediately.
Buyer’s Premiums
Onsite Buyer Premium: 10% on the first $5,000.00 on all purchases, per item.
Internet Buyer Premium: 15% on the first $5,000.00 and 5% on $5,001.00 and more on all purchases
Sale Day Announcements take precedence over printed material
Sales Tax and Texas Agricultural and Timber Exemption :
Buyers with a VALID Texas Ag and Timber exemption certificate are not required to pay tax for equipment and miscellaneous, but MUST present a valid copy of their certificate at time of registration at EACH SALE. Please see the list of items on the day of the sale that require to pay sales tax, i.e. trees.
Sales tax will be charged to both In State and Out of State buyers, unless buyers furnish a Resale Certificate. Texas buyers who want to claim a Farm Use Exemption on farm equipment must present a valid Texas Agriculture and Timber Registration Number along with a signed Texas Agricultural Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificate. Out of State buyers can apply for a Texas Ag number through the TExas State Comptroller’s office. The state of Texas charges a 2% diesel fuel surcharge tax on diesel off road equipment 50 horsepower or more. This tax is not charged if the equipment is for resale or farm use.
Document Fee:
There will be a $50 document fee on any licensed, titled or bill of sale vehicles including trailers and ATV’s.
WIRE TRANSFER INSTRUCTIONS
“IMPORTANT”
You must include your buyer number and sale date as a reference in your wire transfer to ensure proper credit. Failure to do so may result in a delay in the release of your equipment. Be specific with your bank as to the importance of this reference number!
Wire Transfer instructions are emailed with your invoice after the close of the auction.
Bidding In Person
Bidding in person at Switzer Land & Auction Services is easy.
1. On the day of auction, you will need to bring your driver’s license to register. Name, Address, Driver’s License Number, Date of Birth, Email Address.
2. If you have a Texas Agricultural and Timber Registration Number (Ag/Timber Number) and want to use it on applicable items, the original or photo of the certificate is required on the day of the sale. We do not accept expired certificates. And the certificate must be in the buyers name/company.
3. You may provide a sales tax exemption number from Texas. Out-of-State sales tax number can only be used if the item is for re-sell.
4. You will then receive a bidder number… You are ready to bid!
5.After you are finished bidding on the items and were the winning bid, come to the office to check out and pay for your items and load out. Payment in full is required before any equipment can be moved from the yard. Any items that were purchased for $5,000 and more must have the check cleared the bank before the item can be moved off the yard.
Bidding Online
Online bidding is available with Proxibid and Equipment Facts. You can directly view our auctions on these sites thru our website. Register Online anytime thru these sites. If you are the winning bidder, Switzer Auction will email you the invoice that same day or Sunday.

Bidding by Proxy
If you cannot attend the onsite auction, you can place an absentee proxy bid. Switzer Auction’s auctioneers can bid on your behalf. Fill out an Absentee Proxy Bid Form. Any questions, call us 979-885-2400
Third Party Pick up
If a third party will be picking up your equipment you purchased, a Third Party Authorization Form is required. Please refer to the instructions on the form on what to attach to the form for both the buyer and the party picking up your items purchased.
